Costa Rica Surf Camp

Visit the Costa Rican beaches with guaranteed constant surf, year-round warm water temperatures around 27 degrees celsius (80 F) and the amazing beach of Playa Hermosa!

In fact, you will find some of the most beautiful, clean and uncrowded beaches you have ever seen, not far away from the famous and touristic playa of Santa Teresa. Enjoy Costa Rica's nightlife or try some of the tasty, local food like 'gallo pinto'!

The surf camp is located right in front of the beach at Playa Hermosa de Cobano on the southern part of the Nicoya Peninsula, which is the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is one of those rare countries in Central America that has two coastlines to surf, the Caribbean and the Pacific, only separated by a dominating mountain backbone. It has a tropical climate with two seasons and enjoys year-round boardshort water temperatures at all beaches.

During your surfing trip in Costa Rica, you will be accommodated in one of the three lovely houses, which are right at the beach of Playa Hermosa. You'll never forget the wildness of the tropical forests, the endless horizon of the Pacific ocean and the many nearby surfbreaks which are in short walking distance from the camp.

The main camp house consists of:

• three bedrooms (for up to 3 guests per room),
  
• a fully equipped kitchen,
  
• a bathroom and
  
• a big terrace with a chill-out area, overviewing the whole campsite.

The other two ranchos (bungalows) have each:

• an upstairs bedroom,
  
• a private bathroom and
  
• a comfortable chill-area.
• can fit up to 6 people.

Surfing

Every morning, you will check the breaks right in front of the house and search for the perfect waves.

Your home break will be located in Playa Hermosa de Cobano. This is a great place to surf and one of the last uncrowded surfing areas in Costa Rica.

This place suits beginners and surfers with all levels! There are consistant beach breaks - lefts and rights when it´s small, and two reef breaks which get very fast & hollow with big swell.

Other breaks close to the surf camp (within 15 min. driving distance):

• Santa Teresa: A very popular surf spot for surfers of all levels with tons of beach breaks.
• Playa del Carmen, Mal Pais: Offers long right and shorter left surfing over sand and a very consistant reef break (sunset reef).
• Manzanillo: Excellent outer reef break for big swell.

Besides surfing and exploring Costa Rica's beaches, you will find many other adventures like white-water rafting, bungee jumping and jungle canopy tours, quad-tours, fishing & snorkeling at Isla de tortugas.

Costa Rica is packed with national parks that protect the region's volcanoes, it is famous for great rain forests and their animal kingdom, but it's the diamond-dust beaches of Costa Rica and the marine life that attract us, surfers, to this beautiful country.
