Surf Breaks around Pohnpei;
A perfect right hander short for Palikir Pass. P-pass is the number 1 wave in Pohnpei and can work on most conditions with most trade winds being offshore or crosshore. Any swell from the NW - NE will make it work with the best swell direction being directly North. Most swells that hit Pohnpei are from the North in the 2 - 6ft range with the ocassional bigger day.
When the swell is small P-pass is suitable for novice intermediate surfers all the way up to advanced levels. Anything from 4 - 5ft the surfers needs to be confident in the barrel because even though the wave is predictable and often too perfect not to make it out the barrel there is also a good chance you may come off and get held down.
P-pass can hold up to 10ft Hawaiian size but more often than not it is around the 3 - 5ft range.
The second most surfed wave in Pohnpei. Is the swell magnet for Pohnpei and a perfect place to surf when the swell isnt really doing its thing. It can handle 10ft Hawaiin size and if you really want to challenge yourself make sure you take on the inside section where it gets extremely hollow and shallow. Sokehs is a better wave when its 6ft + as it breaks in deeper water and is way less sketchy.
