Nomad Keramas Lodge - Bali

Set amongst tropical vegetation and rice paddies the surf camp is on the East side of Bali, far away from noisy chaotic Kuta but only 300m from the beach with plenty of surf spots nearby you can either use one of the local surf guides to take you out or just go for a walk along the beach there is 6 quality breaks within a 30 minute walk. Right handers rule the East Coast of Bali (Nusa Dua, Sanur, Serangan) and are the resort is open year round because the waves are great year round.

The Surf Camp can be classified as a resort as all the accommodation offer air conditioning, private bathrooms and plenty of privacy with perfect options for families, couples and single travellers. There are surf courses for beginners, surf guides for the experienced, or anyone wanting to combine surfing with other activities like yoga.

Surf

If you are intermediate or an experienced surfer you can find surf in front of the camp or in Keramas just 2 kms away. The staff can take you or you can borrow one of the motorbikes depending on availability.

Serangan (10 minutes away): There is two or three main points depending on the tide. Awesome spot for all levels of surfers! Left and rights reef breaks. There is a few more waves that you will surf once you get there...

The Surf Guides

Surf guiding is in the mornings from Monday to Friday. The van will leave the camp after breakfast. The exact time may vary depending on the tide each day and the surf spot they're planning to go. Some of the waves you might surf will be Uluwatu, Bingin, Dreamland, Balangan, Padang Padang, Nusa Dua, Canggu, Berawa, Medewi, and a few more...

The Surf School

The Surf school was voted "Best Surf School in Bali" for 3 consecutive years by Magic Wave Surf Community Magazine. Located right at Half Way Kuta Beach, which has probably the best waves for learning in Kuta & Bali.

The Surf Courses

Beginner - The board, safety, ocean & wave positioning, paddling & catching waves, control & standing up

Intermediate 1 - Paddling out & navigating waves, reading, selecting and understanding waves, timing & take off, turning & trimming

Intermediate 2 - Refining timing & jump up, late take off riding the wave face, surf etiquette video feedback on performance

Intermediate 3 - Surf trip - beach/reef breaks. Put your skills to the test, graduate on challenging waves

Introduction to Short boards - Takes you to the next level. Understand & control short boards, duck dives, selecting waves, timing, take off

Hey guys, I just spent 5 days at Keramas surf lodge which is about 45mins out of Kuta in Bali. I was simply blown away! When I walked through the front gates of this secluded resort hidden amongst the tall palm trees and green shrubbery that surrounds the resort. 8 amazing Villas lined the centre piece of the resort which was a stunning garden bed and lap pool. Beautiful gardens with greens, blue, reds and yellows surrounded and when I got to my room a huge king size bed greeted me with air con and a cool 22 degrees, perfect! Along with the great rooms and huge bathroom I was very impressed with the TV room, games room and multiple chill out areas! The waves in the area were also amazing, I scored 4 days in a row surfing out at Keramas for 5 hours straight with hardly anyone around and scored the longest right hand barrels of my life! I hit the reef a few times but surfaced everytime with nothing but a small scratch that healed later that night anyway! Id recommend this place to anyone that wants to surf awesome waves or to those who want to learn to surf as the surf guides Cesar and Antonio will take great care in helping you either find epic waves or help you get to your feet for the first time and well on your way to surfing the epic waves Keramas has to offer! Its also great for families and is only 10mins from Sanur for shopping or dining! Definitely will be back, hopefully in November!
