"Sans Souci" coming from the French Language meaning "Without Worries", this is what you can expect from this purpose built, luxuriously appointed vessel, built to accommodate 14 passengers in the ultimate of air conditioned comfort.
SansSouci boasts a large and luxurious saloon area, comfortable sun deck on the bow, shaded top viewing deck and covered rear deck for your comfort.
Complete and independently controlled sound & video system capable of playing any format: Tape's, CD, MP3, VCD, DVD, VHS (PAL & NTSC).
SansSouci was built in 1995 in Western Australia under West Australian Department of Transport Survey to the worldwide USL Code. She is built in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) with foam core for strength and durability whilst having excellent sound and temperature shielding qualities.
A vessel built under a DPI license as an SPV must fulfill many regulations and undergo many checks from design, construction and operation. Every safety feature that can be imaginable has been implemented and regular survey checks are done annually from hull inspection, vessel integrity, underwater gear (prop and shaft), machinery in good and safe working condition, safety gear such as life rafts, Epirb's, fire extinguishers, engine room fire smothering system, life jackets, emergency radio and phone availability, electronics' in good working order.
Also important is the need for the Captain to have the correct Captains Ticket that allows him to operate a Commercial Vessel or SPV.
SansSouci II is also insured with Lloyds of London as a Commercial Passenger Carrying Vessel for $1 million plus a P&L cover for $500 million which covers the vessel, crew, passengers and other vessels for almost any event.
Captain & Crew
Captain - Darren Stockwell is one of the best and most capable qualified captains operating in the Mentawai today. Darren is a gun surfer and been operating in Indonesia since 1998 working on boats from Navistar, Bintang, Strictly Business, Laut India, Seimoa, Freedom 1, 2, and 3 and now SansSouci II. Darren speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesian and is very well liked amongst his peers in the surf industry and the local community alike.
Timmy - has been with Sans Souci ll for 13 years, is a very capable crewman having complete knowledge and understanding of SansSouci II. He understands the importance of looking after the clients and making sure they are happy. He also has his own quality video and photographic gear, able to make quality photo images and video and turn them into a DVD. Timmy is a very highly valued part of the crew and is absolutely adored by all of their guests. Timmy and Wife Santi also own and operate their own land camp in Lagundri Bay, Nias.
Kasta - Kasta is SansSouci’s chef. Over the past 10 years Kasta has worked on many of the well known surf charters. His reputation precedes him with his cooking abilities and his personal manner. His culinary skills have been achieved by working with some of the best chefs that there has been in the Mentawai Surf Industry.
Mura - Mura has worked part time on SansSouci II for the past couple of years as a general deckhand and is a valuable part of the crew.

The sleeping quarters provide absolute comfort & privacy with two cabins with a double bed, pullman (extra single bed which can be folded away) and ensuite; two cabins with upper & lower bunks; and "V" berth with 2 upper & 2 lower bunks. Captain & crew have separate quarters.
Contact to the outside world is via Inmarsat Mini M telephone system with a specialised Automatic Marine Aerial allowing 24-hour contact by phone or fax, anywhere, anytime. Also they now have Iridium phone and email service for your convenience. They also receive swell/weather reports morning and night.

The food varies from charter to charter depending on the origin of the guests but the main basis is food combining to ensure that your energy levels stay high. Fresh fish is available when they catch it and they are stocked for Sushi, Sashimi & Titaki.

Breakfasts are all continental set up with a rotation of oatmeal, banana pancakes and eggs. Also including home made muesli, fruit juice, coffee, tea & toast.
Lunches are either home made beef / fish burgers served with fresh greens, Australian cheese and an assortment of sauces; the famous Mie Goreng - Indonesian stir fried noodles with vegetables, egg and prawn crackers; or Mediterranean pasta and potato salads with sauces and fresh bread.
Dinner can be something like fresh Cod, Wahoo, Mackerel, Trevally with cream potato, steam vegetables and orange butter sauce; beef lasagna served with a fresh garden salad and home baked focaccia bread; or BBQ chicken served with fresh Asian slaw, steamed rice and peanut satay sauce.
Morning teas are light so you can keep up your surfing performance during the day with freshly baked muffins/slices or cheese & cracker picking platters.
As if your days surfing wasn’t sweet enough without indulging in some of the chef's special sweet desserts such as mixed berry crunchy crust cheesecake; double chocolate mud cake with double cream; or home made apple pie with a creamy vanilla custard.
