Sinalei Reef Resort is found on the south coast of Samoa’s main island of Upolu. The coastline it’s situated on is world famous for its clear turquoise water with shady coconut palms fringing stretches of white sand. .

After opening in 1996 the resort has describes itself as having the fa’a Samoa, or spirit of Samoa, providing a paradise within paradise for it’s guests. There are 29 individual Fales amongst the tropical landscaped gardens, blending Samoan architecture with modern facilities, letting you choose between Garden, Oceanview and Beachside Fales. The Beachside Fales are unique featuring an enclosed atrium with an outdoor shower and large deck to overlook the ocean after a day of island life.

Sinalei Resort and Spa offer it guest a wide range of facilities such as game fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, canoeing, snorkelling, 9 hole golf course, tennis, fresh water pool, and of course Sinalei’s SPA where local remedies are c combined with traditional massage techniques to make you de stress and slow down to island time….

No children under 12 yrs are accepted at the resort.

Garden View Fales

The Garden View Fales are nestled amongst immaculately landscaped tropical gardens. With the flexibility of sleeping up to 3 guests, the rooms still maintain a spacious and airy ambience. Privacy and seclusion are captured in this peaceful garden setting.

Ocean View Fales

The Ocean View Fales have recently been redecorated to the highest standard that Sinalei is renowned for.  A verandah with outdoor furniture creates an atmosphere ideal for chilling out and relaxing. Some Ocean View rooms are available with a plunge pool and separate living room. To confirm these larger rooms with plunge pool, an additional cost applies.

Beachside Fale

The cultural design of the Beachside Fale is exceptional; leaving a sense of complete privacy adrift the ocean breezes. Outstanding indoor-outdoor flow is achieved by utilizing slatted wooden bi-fold doors: two sides and/or the front may be opened completely. Lush gardens surround the fale, with sand and water at the end of the deck.  A hammock completes this setting for absolute relaxation.

Honeymoon Fale Villa

The essence of true romance is to be found in this idyllic setting. This brand new fale is located on the far eastern side of the resort, in the privacy of its own beach; and is the ultimate solution to a perfect romantic honeymoon.

Luxuries abound from the large decking, a plunge pool and wonderfully landscaped surroundings ensuring total privacy - this villa embraces the spirit of love and all its pleasures. The unique HIS and HER bathroom opens out onto a large outdoor shower recess, set in a breathtaking tropical atrium.

Presidential Villa

Located on the western side of the resort, the recently built fale villa is in a panoramic beach setting. The Suite is made up of 3 fales separated by undercover timber walkways, making ideal living spaces to suit a variety of needs.

The first fale is the air-conditioned accommodation area with all the comforts our guests would associate, and expect, in such an executive suite including a TV/DVD player. The second fale is a large open lounge area with kitchen and bar. The third fale is accommodation for a valet or butler, for another couple, or used as a day room.

This combination of inspirational design makes for an incomparable facility; the ultimate Pacific Island retreat in true luxury.

This place is unreal, plenty of surf for me and relaxing spa treatments for my non surfing wife. Swell ranged from waist to overhead while I was there. Certainly not suited to beginners. The wave I was surfing has a steep take off and breaks over shallow reefs. Suit intermediate. You can only surf on the high tide. I was lucky to be there with two high tides a day. Maybe factor this in if you want max time in the water. (means getting up at 4am though) Sinalei does not have a dedicated boat to get you out to the breaks. (it is a very long paddle). But if you speak to the guys at the water sports hut, they may take you out for a small fee (even to their home break). Otherwise wander down to coconuts and contact Neil in the snorkel rental hut by the pool. He has a small boat and excellent knowledge on where to surf. He can also take out snorkelling gear if the swell dies. His small boat also guarantees a less crowded experience. Sinalei is a great place if you want to spend time with your loved one and get some quality waves. The people are lovely. They are all local from the neighbouring villages. And on their days off they are happy to take you on a tour for a small fee. Thanks Rhonda for putting us onto this place. We will certainly return.
