Activities

Coconuts can arrange for surf guiding as most of the breaks around the island are reef breaks and must be accessed by boat. The surf guides can take you out on their own boats and show you the best Samoa has to offer.

Coconuts is blessed with several breaks within paddling distance of the resort:

Coconuts is 300 meters off shore directly in front of the resort, a little further west you will find up to 3 other breaks including Catapult (named after one of Mika’s cocktail concoctions). Tafitoala is a popular left. In the other direction, there are another two breaks, a left called Siumu just in front of the village Siumu. Further down the coast, you will find a black sand beach Aganoa which is fantastic for snorkelling and swimming in the crystal clear water, but just off the coast you will find Boulders, one of the most popular breaks in Samoa!

Had the best time at Coconuts Resort. Arrived at 5.30AM. Great breakfast then in the surf with Neil (Manoa surf tours) at 8.30AM. 4-5 feet perfect lefts mirror glass ocean Just Neil and me for as long as I could take it. The local surfers were out on the next few surfs, and they were very friendly, waves were shared and there were not always a lot to go around. (3 days good surf out of 6,other days too small) Back at mid day for lunch. The food (especially the Tuna) was world class. Mika (he runs the restaurant) is an American chef and every dish was superb (So many choices!). The local Valima beer is cold and good. My wife and kids loved the pool, the sight seeing, the people. Saturday is cultural exchange day at Coconuts and it is very genuine not just a pantomine for tourists. All the villagers are involved with the resort. No Television was suprisingly OK with my girls 8+12 years, exhausted from the daily adventures.

G'day Josh, Coconuts Beach Club, Samoa – Hey Josh, I was pretty pleased overall. It was an awesome resort! The surf.... I stuck with Neil the whole time - he's a cool fella and 15 years of experience there i think made him perfect for me (had him to myself for two days) given my first trip to some gnarly isolated reef breaks. He has the edge in knowledge so i'd back him for other newbies to Samoa staying at Coconuts or elsewhere. It's interesting what you learn when you get there also, culturally its a lot different to what you expect. The conditions, as Neil said, can be best summarised as Samoa always has a surfable wave - but the incessant trade winds killed all the rights!!! salles left was THE spot that was always on - which took some getting use to for a low intermediate vicco who only surfs rights!! and the only other wave was a bizarre sneaky little right nearby in front of PJ's which was kinda fun. but these were the only waves surfed... woulda loved to have had a chance to see more rights , gone to salani's , pebbles, boulders and others i'd reaserched, and it was a real bummer that coconuts right out front was never on... but that's surfing. All in all it was a great first off venture into surf holidays and more advanced breaks on sharp reefs and lefts!! Samoa is a lovely place and i scored on a deal! Thanks for your help - you put together a great deal and package at late notice that world surfaris and the surf travel company couldn't!! I'd be happy to use you again. Cheers, Drew
