Surf the Central Atolls aboard the Maha. It is currently the only regular surf boat charter that cruises this area. Based on an exploration trip for Oxbow in June 2004, a vast potential for surfing have been discovered in the central atolls. Other than the occasional boat charter en route between Malé and Gaafu Dhaalu (Southern Atoll), boats around Laamu are rare.
In the central atolls of the Maldives islands, standard waves are long clean rights with size varying between 3 and 6ft (face). During the months of April-October, it's never flat.
Great surfing conditions are not the only attractive activity to practice in the Maldives. A boat trip offers the best flexibility to fully enjoy the beauty of the Maldivian atolls.
Fishing
Apart from the young rich kids born in Malé, every Maldivian is a keen fisherman. The reason is obvious : this is the first resource in those tropical islands and fish is more than plentiful. Netfishing being banned, boats only catch tuna with fishing rod and trawling handlines behind boats. Don't miss that amazing opportunity to catch the biggest fish in your life with a simple handline or a strong fishing rod.
Snorkeling
Maldives are among the top 5 destinations in the world for diving because of great visibility & high water temps. Bring a mask, snorkel and fins to enjoy the colourful underwater world, easily accessible even without tanks.
